Samantha prepares for cycle challenge from London to Amsterdam
Pedal power is on the agenda for our Director, Samantha
Harrison, as she prepares to take on another epic challenge.
Along with a group of friends, Samantha will be cycling from
London to Amsterdam over four days at the end of
It's all to raise money for the Yorkshire Cancer Centre, a
regional centre which has supported many of our clients as well as our friends
and family members being treated for cancer. Samantha has done many fundraising
events for the charity over the years, including cycling from London to Paris
It was an eventful arrival in Paris on the same day the Tour
de France crossed the finishing line. With thousands of people out on the
streets, navigating the route was a challenge – and Samantha, a trained nurse,
had to give first aid to a fellow cyclist who had come off her bike.
This time, the 300-mile bike ride starts in London and
continues to Amsterdam and Bruges. Samantha
will be accompanied by her husband Gareth and daughter Amy, along with five friends:
Louise Annat from Heaven and Hell Fitness in Harrogate, Andy Roberts, and Jon
and Sally Hatchard, along with their 18-year-old son Alec.
Samantha said: "We've all been putting in the training
over the last few months and we're now down to the final weeks. It has been
hard work, but we know how valuable the work of the Yorkshire Cancer Centre is
and raising as much money as possible has helped to keep us motivated.
"We're looking forward to getting started now and
hoping for good weather and a smooth trip for all of us."
Donations are welcome for the team’s efforts. To support
