Continued Care prepares for national finals of Great British Care awards
Excitement is building at Continued Care as we prepare for the national finals of the Great British Care Awards.
Best Home Care Co-ordinator
We're going to Birmingham to support Samantha Fenwick Scott, who was named Best Home Care Co-ordinator in the Yorkshire and the Humber region of the awards back in November 2016. As a result, she was put forward for the national competition, and went down to Birmingham for judging a few weeks ago.
She was interviewed by the panel about her role and how she supports our clients and staff in so many wonderful ways. We're keeping everything crossed that Sam will be chosen as the national winner of the award later this week , but whatever the outcome, we know just how lucky we are to have her in our team.
Outstanding Contribution to Social Care
Meanwhile, our Director, Samantha Harrison, was also presented with an award in the Yorkshire and the Humber region: she was given the Outstanding Contribution to Social Care award. Never one to put herself in the spotlight, it was a complete surprise to Samantha but very well deserved. She works hard not only to deliver outstanding care to our clients, but also to raise the profile of social care to ensure it is funded and respected as well as it should be.
Thanks to her regional award, Samantha is also in the running for the national Outstanding Achievement title. Naturally, there is a great deal of competition against some wonderful people from around the UK, but we wish her all the best.
Best Employer in Harrogate
As an award-winning care company, we have earned recognition over the years from numerous organisations. Our staff have been recognised individually for their hard work, and Continued Care has also been named among the best care companies in Yorkshire and the UK.
In 2016, as well as the two Samanthas winning their awards, the company was named Best Employer in Harrogate in the Harrogate Advertiser Business Awards. This was particularly helped by our Investors In People Gold Awards which we're pleased to say has just been renewed.
The national Great British Care Awards take place this Friday, 31st March, at the ICC in Birmingham. We are looking forward to travelling down and getting dressed up for the night, where the very best in UK care will be celebrated.
Outstanding work goes on every day in the social care sector. Dedicated carers across the UK offer vital support to their clients, enabling them to live independently and with dignity in their own homes. We’re pleased and proud to be part of an event which celebrates everything they do
