Continued Care Director wins Outstanding Contribution award
Continued Care director Samantha
Harrison was announced as the winner of the Outstanding Contribution to Social
Care award at the Great British Care Awards in Yorkshire and the Humber.
She was attending the ceremony
because Continued Care and our staff were shortlisted for three awards. Of those, Samantha Fenwick-Scott
won the Care Co-ordinator award, and will now go on to represent the region in
the national finals next March.
There was a big surprise at the end of the night, when the final award was presented. We were congratulating Samantha Fenwick-Scott on her win and preparing to applaud the winner of the Outstanding Contribution award, when suddenly the judges read out "Samantha Harrison from Continued Care".
It was completely unexpected and a wonderful surprise for her, and she went up onto the stage to collect her award.
Samantha said: "I was so surprised when my name was
read out at the awards ceremony – and incredibly proud.
"I absolutely love what I do and we have a fantastic
team of staff at Continued Care, all dedicated to helping our wonderful clients
to live independently."
Giving the Outstanding
Contribution award, which was the last of the night, the judges recognised
Samantha’s contribution to the care sector in Yorkshire and the Humber over
They said: “Samantha has dedicated her provisional
life to providing quality, person-centred home care provision.
“She established Continued Care,
a long-standing home care provider in the region and is passionate about
excellence, always going the extra mile to ensure her service users remain at
the heart of the company.
“Samantha has forged strong
relationships with the CQC, the local authority and colleagues, and much of her
spare time is given to putting time and effort into a local care association,
ensuring her values extend into the wider community.”
